The minds behind TiVo
The original invention
TiVo first hit the industry in 1999 thanks to the creative work of Jim Barton and Mike Ramsay after their time spent on the ill-fated TimeWarner Full Serice Network. They knew they wanted to build a new, better DVR service that would last, and this would ultimately find its name in the form of the TiVo Series 1.
A new frontier However, after over 20 years of service, the original TiVo service would start to show cracks, especially after multiple corporate handovers and attempted rewritings of what it means to be "TiVo". That's where we come in. As a part of the Teleworld revival project, TiVo has been brought back to its roots, and revitalized as a public way to create, share, and record TV stations.
